Yoga Advice I Wish I Had Before Starting..
1. YOU CAN'T BE "BAD" AT YOGA.
Being able to do things or unable to do certain things doesn't make you better or worse at yoga. It just means you are at a different phase of your journey. Don't let what you can't do, stop you from starting. (Plus, yoga is so much more than a physical practice, but that's for another time.)
2. THINGS TAKE TIME, BUT YOU HAVE TIME.
3. YOU KNOW YOUR BODY.
Listen to your body. Perhaps you've found yourself in a class where a teacher calls for a pose that simply doesn't feel good for you or adjusts you in a way that doesn't feel right. Understand that you know your body and the feedback it is giving you. Honour that feedback by taking a step back or asking not to be assisted.
4. TAKE WHAT YOU NEED, LEAVE WHAT YOU DON'T.
There is so much to be learned in the world of yoga, some things may resonate more with you than others, that is okay. It doesn't make you less, it makes you human. There is no right or wrong way to practice YOUR yoga. It doesn't matter how you flow, what you wear or what it looks like. It only matters how it feels to YOU.
